Good question! You will need carriage of own goods use if you want to be covered to drive your van for business when you’ve got work related items in your vehicle.
For example, if you’re a tradesperson who will need to carry tools in the vehicle, or if you’re carrying your own personal possessions, then this is the class of use for you.
Please note that your tools or personal possessions themselves will not be covered under this insurance, you will just be covered to drive with them in the van. For your tools to be covered for example, you would need Tools In Van Insurance Cover
If you’re using your van for hire and reward, such as for delivering items and receiving payment for making those deliveries for example then that isn’t a problem either! In this case though, you would need haulage use.
For both carriage of own goods use and haulage use, you will be covered to drive your van for social, domestic and pleasure use as well as using your van for business.
